MAP YOUR ASSETS
Your community’s assets can be leveraged to solve your problems. Your buildings, programs, people, skills, experiences, formal and informal networks, private and public institutions, religious and secular organizations — these are your assets.
But where are they?
Sympara maps your resources so you can see your strengths — and then connect with others to solve problems.

WHY IT WORKS

Sympara uses the latest thinking in asset-based community development, participatory research, and citizen mapping to help communities solve problems.

Why map assets? When confronting challenges, community leaders are often unaware of the resources they possess. One major obstacle is lack of a current, visual and interactive representation of assets. As the old adage says, “Out of sight, out of mind.”

If you don’t see it, you may not know you have assets. And you can forget you have the power to change things. Sympara puts the power in your hands — a tool to engage neighbors and solve your problems together.
TO HELP COMMUNITIES THRIVE
Sympara is a tool of Sympara, Inc., a nonprofit organization that helps communities repurpose underutilized religious properties for social impact.

The asset-mapping tool is made possible through the generous financial support of American Baptist Home Mission Societies.
